Tuesday: God's Promises Are Not Late

Devotional
We live in a world that rewards speed. Fast results, quick fixes, instant answers. So when God does not move on our schedule, it is easy to wonder if He has forgotten us or if His promises even apply to us anymore. Habakkuk received a word that is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. The vision has an appointed time. It will not delay. God's promises are not on our calendar, but they are on His, and His calendar is perfect. Peter echoes this same truth. God is not slow. He is patient. His patience is not indifference. It is love in action, giving people time to turn to Him, working out His purposes with precision and care. This matters deeply for everyday life. When a relationship feels broken beyond repair, when a prayer seems unanswered for years, when circumstances look hopeless, God's promises are still in motion. He has not abandoned the vision. He has not changed His mind. The invitation is to bring those burdens to Him. Not with gritted teeth and white-knuckled endurance, but with thanksgiving, trusting that the God who made the promise is the same God who keeps it. His track record is perfect. His character does not change. Rest in this today. What God has promised, He will fulfill. Not one moment too late.
Bible Verse
"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9
Reflection Question
Is there a promise from God that you have started to doubt because of how long you have been waiting, and how might remembering His character change the way you are waiting?
Quote
"What God has decreed will come to pass. No one's going to stop it. No one's going to stop the Lord."
Prayer
Father, forgive me for the moments I have doubted Your promises. Help me to anchor my hope in Your character, knowing that what You have promised, You will fulfill. Amen
