Monday: Justice Starts with You

It is easy to look at the world and feel overwhelmed by injustice. Corrupt leaders, broken systems, people taking advantage of the vulnerable. These are not new problems. God confronted the rulers of Israel with a piercing question: is it not your responsibility to know justice? They knew the right thing to do. They simply chose not to do it. But here is the thing. God's call to justice was never just for rulers and leaders. It is for every one of us. When we see someone being overlooked, taken advantage of, or treated as less than they are worth, we have a choice. We can look away, or we can act. Micah 6:8 does not give us a complicated formula. It gives us three clear things: do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God. That is it. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But faithfully, one moment at a time. You may not be able to fix every broken system, but you can treat the person in front of you with dignity. You can speak up when something is wrong. You can choose integrity when no one is watching. That is where justice begins. Not in grand gestures, but in daily faithfulness. God sees how you treat people. And He cares deeply about it.

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to the injustice around me and give me the courage to respond with both truth and compassion. Help me to live out justice not as a burden, but as an act of love toward You and others. Amen.
