Friday: "Mercy in the Middle of the Storm"
Devotional

Habakkuk's deepest prayer was a simple one: in wrath, remember mercy. He knew judgment was coming. He knew it was deserved. But he also knew the character of the God he served, and He dared to ask for mercy in the middle of it all. Here is the breathtaking truth: God answered that prayer, not just for Habakkuk, not just for Judah, but for every person who has ever lived. He answered it in Jesus Christ. We all stand under the weight of a justice we cannot escape on our own. But God did not leave us there. He came to us. He made the first move. Jesus, who is God, stepped into our world and bore the wrath we deserved so that mercy could be extended to anyone who believes and turns to Him. You are not getting the justice you deserve. That is not a small thing. That is the entire gospel. And the same God who came in mercy is walking with you through every hard season today. He uses difficulty not to crush you but to shape you, to make you more like Jesus. The journey may be steep, but He gives strength for the high places. You are not alone. You never have been.
Bible Verse
'For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.' - John 3:16
Reflection Question
How does knowing that God came to you first, offering mercy instead of the justice you deserved, change the way you face your current struggles?
Quote
'God came in justice for the purpose of salvation for His people.'
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for bearing what I deserved so that I could receive mercy. Help me live today in the freedom and gratitude that comes from knowing I am fully loved and never alone. Amen.
