Wednesday: "Slow to Anger, Rich in Mercy"

Think about the last time someone wronged you. How quickly did frustration rise up? Now consider this: God, who is perfectly holy and sees every sin clearly, is slow to anger. That is not weakness. That is mercy in action. God's patience is not indifference. It is an invitation. Every moment He withholds immediate judgment is a moment He is extending the opportunity to turn back to Him. Romans 2:4 reminds us that God's kindness is meant to lead us to repentance. His slowness to anger is actually a gift. This should do two things in us. First, it should produce deep gratitude. None of us would survive if God responded to every failure the moment it happened. Second, it should produce humility. If God extends that kind of patience to us, we are called to extend grace to others as well. His mercy is not a loophole. It is a lifeline. And it is available to you today.
