Wednesday: "Go to Your Watchtower"

Devotional

When life gets loud and confusing, most of us do one of two things. We either spiral into anxiety, or we distract ourselves until the feeling passes. Habakkuk modeled a third and far better option. After wrestling with God's answer, He made a deliberate choice. He climbed to his watchtower, stepped away from the noise, and positioned himself to listen. He did not run from God in frustration. He ran toward Him with expectation. That image is so practical and so powerful. A watchtower is a place of perspective. From up high, you can see things you cannot see at ground level. Spiritually, time alone with God and His Word does the same thing. It lifts us above the chaos and gives us a clearer view of what is actually true. You have a watchtower available to you. It might be a quiet chair in the morning before the house wakes up. It might be a walk where you turn off the podcast and just pray. Whatever it looks like, the invitation is the same: step away, be still, and expect God to speak. Persistence matters here too. God does not always answer on our timeline. But He does answer. Keep showing up.

Bible Verse

"I will take my stand at my watch post and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint." - Habakkuk 2:1

Reflection Question

What practical step could you take this week to create a consistent, quiet space to meet with God and listen for His voice?

Quote

"The best and first thing you can do is to go to your watchtower, remove yourself, and be alone with the Lord and with His Word."

Prayer

Lord, teach us to step away from the noise and seek Your presence with expectation. Give us the patience to wait for You and the faith to believe You will speak. Amen
