Tuesday: What God Actually Wants

Have you ever tried to fix a relationship by doing more instead of being more present? Maybe you bought a gift when what the other person needed was a conversation. Maybe you stayed busy when what was really needed was your full attention. The people of Judah made the same mistake with God. When confronted with their sin, they asked what price they could pay to make things right. More offerings? More sacrifices? Something bigger and more impressive? God's answer stopped them in their tracks. He did not want a better performance. He wanted their hearts. Micah 6:8 is one of the most clarifying verses in all of Scripture. Do justice. Love kindness. Walk humbly with your God. These are not heavy religious obligations dropped on you from the outside. They are the natural overflow of a life that has genuinely encountered who God is and what He has done. When you truly understand His grace, justice matters to you. When you truly receive His kindness, you want to extend it to others. When you truly see His greatness, humility comes naturally. You do not have to earn His love today. You already have it. Now let that love shape how you live.
