Tuesday: "God Is Already at Work"

Devotional

One of the hardest things about suffering is the feeling that nothing is happening. We pray, we wait, and the world around us seems to keep spinning in the wrong direction. It can feel like God has stepped away. But Habakkuk discovered something that changed everything. When he cried out, God did not say, "I hear you, and I am about to get started." He said, in effect, "Look around. I am already doing something you would not even believe if I told you." God was at work in ways Habakkuk could not see and would not have expected. His methods were surprising, even unsettling. But His activity was never in question. This is a word of real encouragement for us today. When you look at the news, at your family, at your own life, and wonder where God is, remember: His silence is not His absence. He is not wringing His hands over the chaos. He is sovereign over it, working out purposes that are often beyond what we can see or understand in the moment. You do not need to have all the answers. You just need to trust the One who does.

Bible Verse

"Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told." - Habakkuk 1:5

Reflection Question

Where in your life right now might God be working in ways you have not yet recognized or expected?

Quote

"Look among the nations and see wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told."

Prayer

Father, open our eyes to see Your hand at work even when we cannot trace it clearly. Help us to trust that You are always moving, always purposeful, and always good. Amen
