Monday: "Peace That Doesn't Make Sense"

Horatio Spafford had every reason to fall apart. He lost his son, his wealth, and then all four of his

daughters in a single shipwreck. Sailing over the very waters where they perished, he wrote words

that have comforted millions: "It is well with my soul."

That kind of peace doesn't come from good circumstances. It comes from a settled foundation. And

that foundation begins with one question: Is it well with your salvation?

Before anything else can be well, this has to be. Not because God is keeping score, but because

salvation is where everything starts. It is not a finish line you cross and forget. It is a starting line. It is

the moment everything changes, the moment you are no longer defined by your failures but by His

grace.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that every single person starts in the same place: separated from God. But

that is not where the story ends. The same God who sees our brokenness made a way through Jesus

Christ. His death and resurrection are the only foundation strong enough to hold you when everything

else gives way.

If you have never settled this question, today is a good day to do it. And if you have, let this be a

moment to remember what He has already done for you. That memory is the beginning of peace.
