Friday: "Nothing Left to Count"

Devotional

Here is one of the most freeing truths in all of Scripture. God is not keeping a record of your failures. He is not in heaven with a running list, watching your mistakes pile up, waiting to settle the score. That is not who He is. Micah ends his book with a declaration that should stop us in our tracks. God casts our sins into the depths of the sea. Not the shallow end where they might wash back up. The depths. Gone. This is not poetic exaggeration. It is the reality of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross. God did not simply overlook sin. He bore it Himself. He transferred it from us to His Son. When we confess, He sees the blood of Jesus, and there is nothing left to count. His compassion is greater than His judgment, and because of what Christ has done, nothing in all of creation can separate us from His love. This is the note Micah ends on. Not despair, not uncertainty, but the overwhelming grace of a God who delights in steadfast love. And it is the note your story can end on too. You are not defined by your worst moments. You are held by a God whose love is stronger than your sin, stronger than your fear, and stronger than anything this world can throw at you.

Bible Verse

"He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." - Micah 7:19

Reflection Question

Is there a past failure or sin that you are still carrying as if God has not fully forgiven it, and what would it look like to truly receive the freedom He has already given you?

Quote

"He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your compassion is greater than my failures. Help me to live in the freedom of Your forgiveness rather than the weight of guilt You have already removed.
