Wednesday 7/29: A King from Bethlehem

Of all the places God could have chosen, He chose Bethlehem. A small, overlooked town. Not a capital city. Not a place of power or prestige. And yet, Micah 5:2 points directly to Bethlehem as the birthplace of a ruler whose origin is from ancient days, from eternity itself. This is not just a prediction about geography. It is a declaration about identity. The one coming from Bethlehem is not merely a great leader or a gifted king. He is God in the flesh, existing before time began. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy, but not in the way most people expected. He did not arrive on a warhorse with an army behind Him. He came as a baby, born in a manger, and later as a lamb led to the slaughter. His first coming looked like weakness. But it was actually the most powerful moment in human history. His death paid for sin. His resurrection defeated death. And through it all, God's plan was unfolding exactly as He had promised, centuries before it happened. God keeps His promises. Every single one. If He fulfilled the promise of a Savior born in Bethlehem, you can trust Him with every promise He has made to you.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming. Thank You for fulfilling every promise and for doing it in a way that showed Your grace and power. Help me to trust You fully with the promises I am still waiting on. Amen.
